Second
mission within Activity 4.5 “Assess the university governance system in three
pilot universities with a view to ensuring the best approaches that support the
development and review of student-centered curricula, in particular through the
participation of students in university governance, and develop proposals to
enhance the system” took place within the Twinning project on 10-14 February
2019.
Ms. Jurgita
Šiugždinienė, professor of Kaunas Technology University paid a visit to Baku
within the afore-mentioned mission.
The purpose
of the mission was to follow up the work started within the Twinning project to
redevelop strategic development plans of three pilot universities.
Please be advised that the first mission within
the component took place in late 2020, and thus, the work started on updating
the existing strategic development plans of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical
University, Azerbaijan Technical University and Sumgait State University, as
well as development of new plans in line with the best practices in Europe.
The expert reviewed the draft versions of the strategic plans, as well
as different growth area-specific indicators developed by the universities.
Lithuanian expert paid a visit to each university, met with the working groups
in charge of updating strategic plans and gave recommendations on further
improvement of the drafted plans.
It is planned to have a follow-up mission within the component in the forthcoming months.
