Workshops on competence-based and student-centered study programmes development held in pilot HEIs

The Twinning project hosted already the fourth mission under the Activity 1.5 Provide recommendations for improvement of education standards for qualification for programmes in the priority areas (incl. legislative arrangements) with a view to describing achievements based on competences and skills, considering the AzQF from 18 to 22 February 2019.

 

The mission was implemented by Ms. Tatjana Koke, Vice Rector for Studies at Riga Stradiņš University.

 

The mission aimed to revise and further improve a new format of study programmes in priority areas developed by Twinning experts based on a competence-based approach under the previous missions and deliver workshops on elaboration of competence-based and student-centered study programmes in pilot universities.

 

During her mission Ms. Koke met the Working Group on Natural Sciences at the Baku State University and also reviewed the new format of study programmes to provide her suggestions related to the new format of the study programmes. 

 

The expert also delivered workshops in Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and Azerbaijan Technical University on how to design study programmes based on competence-based and student-centered approach and also shared the experience of Latvia in transforming its higher education system in line with the Bologna process principles.

 

The short-term expert also made a presentation on mapping of learning outcomes for the subject, study course and study programmes levels and shared the experience of Riga Stradiņš University in this field. The presentations made by Ms. Koke was met by a great interest by both academic staff and students of the pilot universities who attended the workshops.
