Foreign Language Teacher state study programme revised

             The second mission under the Activity 2.4 Improve study programmes in the priority areas in pilot universities to incorporate learning outcomes and inform and raise awareness about these achievements of the Twinning project was implemented from 20 to 24 May 2019.

              The mission was carried out by Mr. Eckhart Hotzel, Professor at Strasbourg University and a recently retired Director of the Institute of Translators, Interpreters and International Relations at the same university and also Ms. Tatjana Koke, Vice Rector for Studies at Riga Stradins University.   

            The aim of the mission was to revise the current study programme in Foreign Language Teacher and draft a new version of the study programme at the end of the mission.

            The experts met with directors of a number of secondary schools functioning in Baku to ask their opinion as employers about which competences held by foreign language teachers need to be improved and which competences are needed to be developed.

             A meeting with heads of relevant chairs and teaching staff from universities which offer Foreign Language Teacher programmes was also held. The experts collected their opinion and suggestions to take into consideration in designing a new version of the above-said study programme.

              As a result of the mission, the experts drafted a new version of the study programme in Foreign Language teacher and discussed it with representatives of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. The document is also planned to be sent out to relevant universities for a further review.
