Study programmes in three priority areas revised

             

The Twinning project carried out the fifth mission under the Activity 1.5 Provide recommendations for improvement of education standards for qualification for programmes in the priority areas (incl. legislative arrangements) with a view to describing achievements based on competences and skills, considering the AzQF from 23 to 27 September 2019.

 

The mission was implemented by Ms. Dovilė Krupickaitė, Professor at Vilnius University, Mr. Audrius Lopata, Professor at Kaunas University of Technology of Lithuania and Mr. Maris Klavins, Professor at the University of Latvia.

The fifth mission carried out under this Activity aimed at revising state standards for the study programmes in the field of Geography, Information Technology and Ecology and suggesting recommendations for improvement of national classification of specialties in those fields.

 

As part of the mission, the experts held discussions with working groups and academic staff involved in developing and implementing study programmes in relevant in pilot universities, representatives of employers as well as Ministry of Education representatives.

 

As a result of the mission, based on the new format of study programmes developed by Twinning experts based on a competence-based approach, the experts revised professional competences, the list of disciplines and defined the minimum requirements for infrastructure and the possible areas of employment for graduates. The experts also provided samples of learning outcomes and assessment methods in the relevant study programmes revised by them.

 

The recommendations also developed recommendations aimed at improving the classification of specialties in the field of Geography, Information Technology and Ecology.
